Empowerment Self Defense (ESD) is an evidence-based primary violence prevention system taught by a highly trained female instructor who teaches you to recognise the spectrum of violence and red flags and respond to it by using psychological awareness tools, verbal strategies, and physical techniques to prevent you from becoming a victim of violence. Scenarios cover everyday life situations, i.e. at work, school, with friends, family, and also worst-case such as sexual assault. Antonella Spatola (B.A. Psychology) is a professional mediator in conflict resolution, a behavioural therapist teaching ESD and social skills to NDIS participants of all ages, abilities and no discrimination. She also coaches women with a history of trauma, using personal development theories and positive psychology.
