JAM the label is an Adaptive Clothing brand, which means that all of the products have design features that make it easier for a person with disability to get dressed, or wear the items more comfortably.
Created by two Occupational Therapists and Disability Support Workers, JAM aims to promote self-expression, independence and dignity by providing stylish, accessible fashion opportunities for all. As JAM’s products assist with the act of dressing, they are considered low-cost assistive technology by the NDIS, just as a button-hook or sock-donner may be. Although anyone can actually wear JAM clothing, the products are designed with many different people and dressing needs in mind. The designs consider those with physical disability like wheelchair users or those with limited fine motor skills, intellectual disability, sensory needs related to dressing, access to medical devices, chronic pain and fatigue and so many more.
