Medical Speech Pathology

Medical Speech Pathology provides specialist mobile services for adults with acquired swallowing and communication difficulties. We have training and certification in advanced areas of practice and use evidence-based assessment and treatment approaches to ensure the best outcomes for our clients, whilst still maintaining a functional and person-centred approach.

• 1. Complex swallowing:
  • Clinical and instrumental assessment (VFSS, FEES) 
  • Dysphagia rehabilitation and compensatory strategies
  • Surface Electromyography (sEMG) biofeedback
  • Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES) for swallowing 
  • McNeil Dysphagia Therapy Program
  • Respiratory Muscle Strength Training
  • Myofascial release and Manual Therapy

  • Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC)
  • Voice (Trained/Certified in PHoRTE, LSVT, Manual Therapy & gender-affirming voice)

• 3. Neurological Conditions Including but not limited to: Stroke, Traumatic Brain Injury, Dementia, Parkinson\'s Disease, Huntington\'s Disease, Motor Neuron Disease, Friedrich\'s Ataxia, Myasthenia Gravis, Dystonia, Guillain-Barre Syndrome, Functional Neurological Disorder and Multiple Sclerosis.
